About the Tesco meal deal
What’s included
The Tesco meal deal includes one main, one snack, and one drink. Mains include sandwiches, wraps, rolls, salads, sushi, and pasta pots — both Tesco own-brand and branded options. Snacks range from crisps and chocolate bars to protein pots and fruit. Drinks include soft drinks, smoothies, juices, water, and energy drinks.
Tesco also offers a premium Finest tier at £5.50 with Clubcard (£6 without), which includes higher-end sandwich and wrap options from the Tesco Finest range alongside branded premium items.
How the Clubcard price works
You need a Tesco Clubcard to get the £3.85 price. Without one, the same deal costs £4.25 — that’s 40p more every time. The Clubcard is free to sign up for and can be used via the Tesco app on your phone, so there’s no reason not to have one.
Clubcard holders also earn points on the purchase: 1 point per £1 spent. Every 150 points converts to a £1.50 voucher. Over a year of daily meal deals, that’s roughly £9 back in Clubcard vouchers on top of the daily 40p saving.
How to maximise your saving
The meal deal price is the same regardless of which items you pick. So the trick is to choose items with the highest individual prices — that way, the gap between what you’d pay separately and the deal price is biggest.
For example: a Naked Smoothie (around £2.90 individually), a premium sandwich (around £3.30), and a protein snack (around £1.75) would cost £7.95 separately but only £3.85 as a meal deal — saving you £4.10. Compare that to picking a basic sandwich (£2.00), a bag of crisps (£1.00), and a bottle of water (£0.65) which totals just £3.65 — meaning you’d actually save more by not getting the deal.
Deal validity
The current Tesco meal deal offer is valid for delivery from 13 October 2025 until 17 May 2026. Available in all Tesco stores with a food-to-go section, including Express, Metro, and Superstore formats. Not available via Whoosh rapid delivery.
Tesco meal deal vs other stores
At £3.85 with a Clubcard, Tesco sits in the middle of the UK meal deal price range. It’s more expensive than Co-op members (£3.50) and ASDA (£3.74), but cheaper than Greggs (£5.00) and Pret (£6–£7). What sets Tesco apart is the sheer variety — with over 10 million possible combinations, it has the widest selection of any UK meal deal.
